Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneawar is a private institution and was established in 2001 under the affiliation of Utkal University. Then in the year 2002, the institution came under the affiliation of Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The institute is recognized by the Odisha Government and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneawar ranked 161 in Engineering by NIRF 2022 and was categorized under ‘Band-Performer’ in the category of ‘Private or Self-Financed College/Institutes (Technical)’ in ARIIA 2021. The Institute is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).
For the overall excellence in Academic, Research & Development and Innovation in Technical Education, the college was awarded as the best engineering college in the Odisha state by ISTE for the year of 2018. It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various specializations. Admission to the courses is done on the basis of marks secured in national level entrance examinations like JEE Main, GATE , PGAT.
