Sri Ram Chandra Bhanja Medical College & Hospital is one of the very first medical institutes in the eastern part of India which educates the students with medical teaching, training, patient care, and research. The college is situated in the Cuttack city, in the state of Odisha. The entire college campus is spread among 87.32 acres. The SCB Medical College was approved by the Medical Council of India and is affiliated to the Utkal University which is in the city of Bhubaneswar.

SCB Medical College and Hospital offers various kinds of medical courses like M.B.B.S., M.D., M.S., B.D.S., Diploma, Super specialty, and Ph.D. A super specialty course is the one which is studied after the completion of an MBBS (UG) degree and a specialization degree. For instance, General Medicine is one type of specialization course and the super specialty makes a doctor become specialized in a particular medical field like cardiology, neurology, nephrology, etc.

Placement
An internship program is available within the college itself for the students as it is the medical college and hospital. Students are offered clinical postings across a variety of wards like medicine, surgery, psychiatry, gynecology, etc. Students are also provided with a stipend during this internship period. The amount of stipend is based on the guidelines of the State Government. After the internship period, students can either continue their service in government as well as in private hospitals or they can also opt for the post-graduation courses. Both the post-graduation or the job requires the clearance in the respective entrance exams.
