Presidency University, Kolkata is a public state university located in College Street, Kolkata. It was among the best colleges in the country when the institute was affiliated to University of Calcutta.
Presidency University Kolkata was established in 1817 and is recognised as an Institution of National Eminence by UGC. After functioning as a leading constituent college under Calcutta University for over a hundred years, the institution was established as a university in July 2010. Presidency University is accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade. The university has 17 departments that offers UG, PG and PhD programs in Arts and Science specialisations. Admission to all the courses offered by the Presidency University are based on marks scored in entrance examination or merit in the last qualifying exam.
