IIIT Bhopal is one of 20 IIITs established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the non-profit Public-Private Partnership model. IIIT Bhopal is a self-governing university that was established in 2017. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, serves as the temporary campus for IIIT-Bhopal. IIIT Bhopal campus will be constructed on 50 acres of land in Bhopal.
