Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is a public technical university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Established in 2008, IIT Gandhinagar campus is spread over 400 acres of land along the river Sabarmati.
IIT Gandhinagar’s 400-acre campus is located on the banks of river Sabarmati in Palaj, Gandhinagar. IITG Boasts its campus being India’s first 5-star GRIHA LD (Green) campus for minimizing the negative impact on the environment. IIT Gandhinagar offers 50 engineering, mathematics, cognitive science, humanities, and social sciences courses. As per the NIRF 2023 ranking, IIT Gandhinagar is ranked at 18 in the Top Engineering colleges in India.
IIT Gandhinagar placement drive 2023, placed 125 students among the 164 participating students. IIT Gandhinagar’s average package stood at INR 19.34 LPA, and IIT Gandhinagar’s median package stood at INR 15.18 LPA. The top recruiting firms were Accenture, Amazon, Amul, Cognizant, Byjus, Deloitte, Adobe, etc.
Admission :-
IIT Gandhinagar admission to more than 59 courses is conducted via national-level entrance examinations. Admission to the B.Tech program must clear the JEE Advanced exam and register for the JoSAA counseling for their seat allocation. IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech CSE cutoff for the general category ranges between 1416 and 3260.
Apart from the flagship B.Tech program, IIT Gandhinagar offers other courses like M.Tech, M.Sc, MA, etc. Admissions to these courses are based on entrance exams such as IIT JAM, GATE, etc. followed by counseling. IIT Gandhinagar also conducts personal interviews for some courses. Once the entrance exam results are declared, candidates can fill out application forms for admission on the official website of IIT Gandhinagar.
IIT Gandhinagar also offers Ph.D. programs in around 13 different specializations. Apart from regular Ph.D., the institute also offers Start Early Ph.D. for students belonging to IITs, NITs, or any top-rated institute. The admission is based on a Department-Based Test followed by Academic Performance, Work Experience, and Interview. GATE/ NET/ CSIR/ UGC or SLET-qualified candidates are also eligible for admission.
Placements :-
IIT Gandhinagar Placement 2023 has been concluded for the UG programs. A total of 164 B.Tech students registered for the placement drive & 125 of these students were placed. The placement percentage witnessed was 76.22%.
IIT Gandhinagar’s average package stood at INR 19.34 LPA and IIT Gandhinagar’s median package stood at INR 15.18 LPA. Most of the students were placed in the Computer Science & Engineering branch. Life At Iit Gandhinagar :-
IIT Gandhinagar permanent campus has three rough divisions i.e. Academic Block, Housing Block, and Student Hostel. IIT Gandhinagar organizes various events and fests to enhance student exposure. Amalthea is the first annual technical summit organized by students in India hosted by IIT Gandhinagar and Blithchron is a two-day cultural festival hosted by IITGN. IITGN hosts an all-night intra-institute sports festival known as Hallabol.
The student housing consists of six hostel buildings that may house both undergraduate and graduate students. Each block has a capacity of roughly 200 students and has a common reading room and hostel library. The dining space includes a central café with outdoor seating, two separate mess halls, and a central dining facility for all students.
