The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India.

M.Tech ₹1 Lakh (1st Year Fees) Pass in Graduation + GATE
M.Sc ₹42,150 (1st Year Fees) Graduation with 55% + IIT JAM
Ph.D ₹45,150 (1st Year Fees) Post Graduation
According to reports 2023, 91 UG and 12 PG students are placed and the median package offered is INR 9.45 LPA and INR 8.16 LPA respectively.
Microsoft, Cognizant, Wipro, Deloitte, TCS, etc., hire students from NIT Meghalaya.
