The university offers postgraduate courses in three departments: science, humanities, and business studies. These include regular programmes, self-financing programmes and diploma courses. The university also offers 28 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in distance education mode, through its Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre.

In the year 1968 library was set up for the growing needs of the students, teachers, research scholars and book-loving personnel.The library has huge collection of books( about 1,30,000 books)apart from journals and manuscripts.
There is a central canteen available in the University which is managed by the private firms approved by Berhampur University authority and it works throughout the week.
There are thirteen well furnished and well-maintained hostels inside the campus out of which Six are for boys and seven are for girls. Facilities like daily Newspapers, periodicals, and television, inverters, multi-gyms are provided in every hostel.
The University has three buses, one minibus, besides one light vehicle.
